The CWHWTC rescue division is a not for profit organization run by volunteers and receives all its monies from private donations and fundraising activities within the organization. All donations are deposited in a special bank account and are used only for Westies in need. We do not receive any outside grant or funding.
All donations are used exclusively to pay expenses incurred in the transport, care and veterinary expenses of the Westies such as health exams, spay/neuter, micro chipping, medication, vaccinations etc. The volunteers are not paid for their time.
There are many ways to help with Rescue.

If you can't physically foster yourself, consider one of the following:
accompany the Foster Family to a training class.
help a Foster Family with training in their home.
use your own dogs to help socialize a rescue dog.
provide moral support to a foster family that may have encountered a problem or training issue.
provide transport, if needed, for a rescue in foster to go to the vet, training, etc.
offer to groom or clip nails for a rescue Westie.
Since Rescue can become expensive, consider donating any of the following:
money of course is always welcome.
crates, food dishes, bedding, toys, leashes and collars, grooming supplies.
Home visits to prospective Foster Families and prospective Adoptive Families.
Regular visits/contact with foster families.
Transport of Westie - picking up from shelter or surrendering home to Foster home, or from Foster Home to new Adoptive Home.
Do some fundraising - donate items that we could use for a raffle, online auction or sell on our website
Organize or help organize a rescue fundraiser. Try a Westie Walk or Westie Picnic. It can be any event where people can bring their Westies and meet other Westie owners, have a fun day and contribute to a good cause.
